Arizona Memorial Place
We got to the Visitor Centre early enough and were given our tickets. While we waited for our tour to begin, we enjoyed an audio tour which provided information on the Visitor Centre, back-lawn interpretive displays and interpretive information on the shuttle boats and on the Memorial. Thereafter, we saw an excellent twenty-three-minute film on the history of Pearl Harbour attack. After viewing the film, we boarded a Navy-operated launch for the Memorial. I could not hold back the tears when I learnt that the Memorial was built over the remains of the sunken battleship USS Arizona which was bombed by Japanese Naval Forces on December 7, 1941, killing 1177 crewmen on board.
