Calabar Drill Ranch is a Drill Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre. It is an NGO that aims to preserve a very endangered African primate, the Drill. It also serves as an orphanage for chimpanzees. Most of the Drills were donated by citizens of Cross River state; others were recovered by wildlife or park officers, or the police. The ranch\'s biggest chimpanzees (ages 7-28 yrs) live in their own natural forest enclosure at Afi Drill Ranch, Boki in Cross River State, Nigeria, while the young ones live together in a chimp nursery at Calabar. For more information on Afi Drill ranch, Boki or Calabar Drill ranch both in Cross River State, visit their website at http://www.pandrillus.org/projects/drill-ranch Entry to Calabar Drill ranch is free with a free tour guide but visitors might choose to make free will donations.
